Ned on Capitol Hill

Well, I finally got a chance to take a picture that I long wanted to. Ned Lamont at the podium in Congress. It isn’t quite the way I had hoped it would be. It was in Second Life. Yet, I believe that Second Life is an extremely important platform and I was very glad to see Ned in Second Life

(more below the fold)

What was Ned doing in Second Life? Well, Ned was learning his way around Second Life a little, trying on outfits, getting comfortable moving around, seeing a few sites, and preparing for his interview on Virtually Speaking with Jimbo Hoyer.

That’s right, on January 10th at 6 PM Second Life Time, that’s 9 PM for those of us in Connecticut, Ned will speak with Jimbo Hoyer in Second Life. This will be followed by a party afterwards, which I hope Ned, and many will stick around for.

Lillie Yifu and WeiXiao Ling worked hard on putting together Ned’s avatar, providing a selection of outfits for Ned, and their work is greatly appreciated. Kim and I showed Ned around a little, and now it is time to spread the word.

If you haven’t joined Second Life yet, you should do so now. You can download the software here. You will also need to set your account on Second Life and create your avatar. You can join here. It can take a little time to get started, so if you want to join Ned in Second Life for Virtually Speaking, I would encourage you to install the software and set up your account now. If you have questions, feel free to contact me directly and I’ll do what I can to help.
