I'm setting up this page to list my notes of what's hot and not, as well as links to reviews, buzz, etc. So far, I've seen ten shows and hope to get many more in soon. The plays are grouped together by different categories (Shows I've seen, shows I hope to see, other reviews and plays that sold out early). Within each category, I am sorting them roughly by how interested I am in them. I've been trying to update this page regularly as new reviews come out, but this is far from an authoritative list of all the reviews. If you have notes or comments, please let me know.

Swaha: Rituals of Union - I was pretty interested in this performance when I read about it. It turns out to be playing at Dixon Place and it capped off my Dixon Place Play Day. Good show. Review coming.

Insurmountable Simplicities - I saw this as the second play of my Dixon Place Day. Philosophy! Review pending, but don't wait. It is a show that can easily be missed.

Other shows I'm following

T-O-T-A-L-L-Y! - I haven't seen it, and I fear I can't fit it into my schedule. When I read the blurb in the program, it didn't grab me. Cheerleading isn't a topic I'm especially interested. Then, I met Kimleigh. (See my review of a discussion between her and Katherine.) She's a powerhouse. While I probably can't make it to her show, if you can, you should.

A Separate Peace - Looks very promising, but I probably can't make it. Adam Feldman's Insta-Review for Time Out New York.

SHAHEED: The Dream and Death of Benazir Bhutto - Also looks very promising but won't fit into my schedule.

Heron & Crane - I am planning to see this show with Fiona on Wednesday. Looks very promising.

Classically Trained, Practically Broke - I almost went to that Saturday night, but instead decided to wait and try to get into Hamlet Shut Up! which unfortunately sold out before I could get tickets. Hy gives it three stars. I'll probably try for this on Thursday.

Running - Alan J. Miller's review Alan found it disappointing. I wasn't interested enough in it to go, so it won't disappoint me. Time Out New York Review. I also spoke with some folks that saw the show who said the acting was great in spite of a tepid script. NYTheatre review.

MacChin: The Lamentable Tragedie of Jay Leno - Hy gave it one and a half stars. The blurb describes it as This tastelessly irreverent adaptation of Macbeth sheds new light on the Late Night Wars. Shakespeare adaptations can be great or they can be painful. This one didn't look all that promising. I think I'll take Hy's recommendation and avoid it.

Hamlet Shut Up - I really wanted to go to this on Saturday 8/14, but it sold out. I'll see if I can catch a later show.

A Personal War- Stories of the Mumbai Terror Attacks - Sold out early for the Sunday 8/15 show. Sounds really good, but I'm guessing I won't get to see it.

Burning In China - The Wednesday 8/18 show is sold out. Strange that the opening on Tuesday isn't sold out yet. Sounds like a great show.

Getting Even with Shakespeare - Saturday 8/14 Sold Out. Maybe I can catch the Friday show.

Rites of Privacy - Wednesday 8/18 show sold out. Sounds like another promising show. NYTheatre review.

No One Finer Than Frank Shiner - Monday 8/16 performance is sold out.

GATE B23 - Wednesday 8/18 show is sold out.

Veritas - All performances sold out! I guess I won't be seeing it. My review wouldn't help sell more seats anyway. Even if it wasn't all sold out, it is the second week and I'd have to miss it.

Over and Over - Closing show, Saturday 8/28 is sold out. Doesn't look like it fits my schedule.
