Power Outage Continues
Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Mon, 02/26/2007 - 16:56The power is still out. Reports are now circulating that the UPSes in the building are failing and that the power failure is outside the building, and also affecting the Superior Court building.
Update: 4:03 Power seems to be coming back. A light in a neighboring room has come on. The power strips have come back, and the WiFi's UPS has stopped beeping.
They have now started piping John Hiatt in over the loudspeakers... Just like your Dad did off of Bring The Family...
Update 4:32 The lights in the media room have come back on. The monitor is working again. Word is that the systems aren't all up and that if a verdict came today, the judge might refuse to accept it until tomorrow.
The juror that was dismissed has apparently been forbidden by the judge to speak with the media.
Power Outage in the Courthouse
Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Mon, 02/26/2007 - 16:01If it isn't one thing, it's another. The power just went out. The Wifi, and I guess the routers behind it, are all on UPS. My laptop is on batteries.
What Next!!!!
Jokes from the media room:
Let’s tell ghost stories…
That will teach them to boot an art curator from the jury…
I guess this means the jury is in the dark too….
(Server still acting flaky, hope this gets out...)
Update:
Word is that the jury room is without power, but they have a window and are proceeding with the light coming in the window.
And the server is back...
Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Mon, 02/26/2007 - 12:24My poor server. Orient Lodge has always been my small private posting place where I write what is important to me. It is rare that it is important to a lot of other people, besides spammers.
This morning, as I was liveblogging, the server went down... Overloaded... I went in and tried tweaking things things...
I lost one post. The server is just barely staying up. Please be gentle on my server.
Back...
Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Mon, 02/26/2007 - 11:44Okay... Libby's back... The joking ends and the focus is on the screens.
All Rise:
Do we need to do this at the bench?
...noise...
Update: 10:52 Noise stops...
Walton: Umm... One juror has now been dismissed based on the acknowledgement that She did have contact with information about the case... It was not intentional, a misunderstanding...
What she had exposure to obviously disqualifies her
It is the position of the defense that jury deliberation should continue with a jury of eleven. Our understanding is that if we add an alternate, they must start afresh, which is something that we believe in our opinion would be prejudicial to Libby.
Libby Trial: media room, blog and IM comments
Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Mon, 02/26/2007 - 11:12A little more chatter from the media room, from blogs and IMs, loosely written in live blogging...
Joking in the media room…
Does anyone know if it is a woman or man that has been exposed to information….
One person suggests the writing looks like a woman’s…
