Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Fri, 12/10/2004 - 11:52Today doing my Blog Explosion surfing, I stumbled across modern marketing by collaborative marketing services These sort of ‘blogs’ are one of the things I dislike most about Blog Explosion. Generally, they are poorly constructed advertisement for web hosting, web design, or some sort of online marketing expertise.
However, this one had an article about Podcasting. It is a simple introduction to what podcasting is and it has a few interesting links. One is to a blog entry by Steve Rubel in Micro Persuasion about Pondering Possibilities in Podvertising. This is a good article about what is going on with podcasting. To me, it feels a little over optimistic, based on what I’ve seen for podcasts so far. It does note the trend of mainstream media to adopt Podcasting. There is quite a discussion and set of trackbacks there.

Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Fri, 12/10/2004 - 11:00In Dan Gillmor’s eJournal yesterday, he announced that he “be leaving the San Jose Mercury News next month to work on a citizen-journalism project.” I’m very excited about this, and I wonder how it will related to the Investigative Blogging project. For those who are really curious about the project, visit the prototype of our community site that is currently in development. Note: it is still very early on, so don’t expect a lot of things to be working yet. However, comments are appreciated.
Also, if you haven’t checked out Epic yet, please do. I’m very interested in how all of it fits together.

It was twenty-four years ago today, that I woke up in an old spice factory that had been converted to loft space in the Navy Yard section of Brooklyn. I was working as a computer programmer for a large life insurance company. One of my roommates was a food service manager at CBS. He had to get in early to feed everyone who wanted breakfast at the broadcast center.

DD has an amusing post about a Blog Explosion banner he created that got rejected. Too bad. It was a cute banner. He also posts some of his blog explosion statistics. Click on Read More to see the statistics and how they compare with mine.
Also, I want to highlight Epic as well as Blogger Challenge.
