Book Recommendations
Over on a BlogExplosion blog, Psych Grad Mamma asked for a list of book recommendations. Here is what I came up with:
If you want some very enjoyable fiction that is very close to psychology, I highly recommend Irv Yalom's books,
When Nietzsche Wept: A Novel of Obsession and
Lying on the Couch : A Novel. Of course, his book Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy is a classic, but that isn't fiction.
Other books that come to mind: Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier, Peace like a river by Leif Enger, I know this much is true by Wally Lamb, Zeitgeist by Bruce Sterling, and Pattern Recogntion by William Gibson.
Finally, if you want some good non-fiction that I think relates very well to blogging, I high recommend One Man's Meat by E.B. White.
I hope this helps.
thanks for the suggestions...

Treason, Ann Coulter
Anything by Al Franken (for perspective)
Non Political would be
Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson
If you haven't read this, do yourself a favor and give it a read. It's simply an awesome story. If you liked the DaVinci code, you'll rave about this one.

I've read a little Ann Coulter and I find her a bit shrill. I've heard a little Al Franken, but not read anything of his.
As to Atlas Shrugged, I read that years ago and have been thinking about reading it again. I've been spending a lot of time thinking about work life balance issues, and it seems as if these days, I'm meeting a lot of Atlases that are shrugging, not because of Government intervention in their businesses, but because of imbalances in the work life ratio. I think there is something worth exploring there.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions.
