What's upcoming?

Now, that Meetup has jumped the shark, we need to think about what’s Upcoming.
Upcoming is a new website, where can add events, tag events, and explore the social network of people attending events. Gregory Heller pointed me to this site via a CivicSpace mailing list. It will be interesting to see what sort of interfaces to upcoming emerge out of the CivicSpace community.
I went to Upcoming and found The Personal Democracy Forum was already set up as an event. I was pleased to see that xian had already signed up.
As I thought about it, it occurred to me that Upcoming has the potential to become a great replacement to Meetup. I added the Fairfield County DFA Meetup for May to Upcoming and tagged it as a Meetup. Checking the Meetup Tag, I found that the Tunisian Blogger Meetup was already there.
So, will Upcoming replace Meetup as the tool people use to take online action offline? It is too early to tell, but it will be fun to watch.

Is Upcoming easy enough yet?
Submitted by Anonymous on Thu, 04/28/2005 - 20:26.I added that PDF even a while back, and I just went in and updated the location information. I find it pretty seamless, but I've been told by others that Upcoming feels pretty geeky and hard to use.
I know Andy is working hard to add new features, especially recently. It definitely has potential.
