Datebook - May 8

The past few days have been pretty busy, and there is no sign of them slowing down anytime soon, so for my benefit, and for anyone else that cares, here are some of the upcoming highlights.

At 10 this morning, the Secretary of State’s Office will randomly select a voting precinct from the May 4th Municipal Elections to be audited as required by Public Act 07-194, An Act Concerning the Integrity and Security of the Voting Process. Woodbridge was one of municipalities that had elections on Monday so I’m interested to see if we’ll be selected. In addition, I audited Waterbury election results in 2007.

At 1 PM, I’ll be meeting with friends and an advocacy group to talk about using social media to get their message out.

At 3 PM, Organizing for America will meet in the Second Floor Breakout Room with Senator Chris Dodd to thank him for ‘for his leadership on the budget and credit card legislation’.

At 7 PM, at least for PBS stations around Connecticut, Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner will appear on News Hour.

Saturday, I hope to catch up on things that have piled up this week. Sunday is mother’s day and will be focused on the family.

Monday, I will be back in Hartford again at the Legislative Office building for a bloggers meeting followed by a press conference Rep. Larson and Common Cause President Bob Edgar to talk about the Fair Elections Now Act. The bloggers’ meeting will be in Room 2600 and the press conference will be in room 1E.

Tuesday, I will be in New York for the Digital Publishing and Advertising Conference, DPAC III. Also on Tuesday is the hearing about Haven Acres Cat Sanctuary in Florida. I won’t be able to make it down there, but I hope to blog a bit about it.

Wednesday, I’ll expect to be back home, while Kim has a busy day in the capitol working on Election Day Registration legislation. Thursday should be a day with a client in New York, Friday will see a school dinner.

So, that’s the coming week. I hope I have enough stamina.
