Strega

It is a dark and stormy night and my spirits are matching the night. Fiona is in bed, still fighting off the remnants of a cold. I am run down, probably fighting the same bug. Kim is up visiting our friend Kimberly, outside of Boston.

Kimberly writes in My trip with breast cancer,” I am officially in Stage IIIA. Stage 5-year Relative Survival Rate - IIIA = 56% Source: American Cancer Society”. I am glad Kimberly is keeping a blog. I am glad that Kim has gone up to help. I know how hard it will be on everyone.

Other blog posts of interest to me tonight: Gregory Heller’s post,

. It is a teaser to something else he will write soon, analyzing where publicly financed campaign money goes. I look forward to the next post on the topic.

Nancy White writes about Magntune which has lines like: “We are not evil”, “Internet Music without the Guilt”, and “Magnatune, the open music record label”. They look very promising and provide a stark contrast to Sony with their spyware.

So, I sit at my computer and drink a little Strega. It is a new vice I picked up on election day, thanks to some friends in Fairfield.

Kimberly and Phil will continue their fights against cancer. Gregory will keep thinking about the true cost of publicly financed elections. A bunch of us will look at new ways of getting our music. I’ll finish my drink head off to bed. I’ll be in better spirits when the rain dries out, the finances start looking better and...
