Today's Follow Friday post is a follow up to yesterday's post about Triberr. The people on the list have tweeted links to various blog entries I've posted. Many of them have lots of followers and many are focused on topics like SEO or social marketing. @ChrisVoss gets a special shout out for suggesting triberr and for having lots of interesting posts. @kevnetik and a few others don't have a lot of followers yet, but have some interesting content. I will be watching their content and tweeting the most interesting ones.

My post about the Divided Brain has gotten a lot of traffic as has my post about Triberr. A few of my New Years posts also got some good traffic. I'll look more closely at the google analytics later.

I've also gotten a few more comments than usual and I need to go back read some of them and respond.

This gets me to perhaps my key concern for Triberr and the people I'm connecting with. While it is nice to have some added traffic, I am hoping to get some added interaction. Is there anyone else out there playing with open courseware? Are there interesting topics that I should be looking more closely into?

This will be where we find the real power of Triberr, or the lack thereof.

This week's Follow Friday List is focused on Middnight On Main, a New Year's Eve celebration in Middletown, CT. I've been working a lot with Middnight on Main and want to highlight some of the other folks involved.

The @InnatMiddletown is where many people that are coming a long distance for Middnight on Main will be staying. @JenfromKidCity is one of the people who helped organize Middnight on Main and has been on various radio and television shows talking about the events.

Joining Jen on some of these broadcasts has been @MattJPugliese who heads up @Oddfellowplay Both KidsCity and Oddfellows Playhouse are important venues in Middnight on Main.

One of the performers that will appeal greatly to the younger set is @SteveStongs. Steve performs on PBS as has quite a following. Gandalf Murphy (@slambovia) is another group with a large following. I've often heard them at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.

Rounding out the list is @JohnWhelanMusic who performs Irish music and Catie Talarski (@scuttlebuttt) from WNPR who will be hosting the Radio Adventure Theatre.

A lot of great things to listen to and do at Middnight on Main, and I didn't even mention the food….

Well, it has been a very long hard week, so I'm using Follow Friday Helper to come up with the list of people I'm following. Starting off the list, is my friend @jcnork. He lives the next town over and we have many shared interests. One of our mutual friends is @giuliag. I've known both of them for a while. Recently, @giuliag attended a #hcsmct twitter breakfast along with a person from @cshhc, whom I've been getting to know over the past few months.

@cshhc is a #fqhc. @chpartnership is a partnership of different #fqhcs. I met the typist behind this organization through #hcsmct and I look forward to another year of people working on health care issues in Connecticut working more closely together.

Switching gears, now. I was part of a tweet chat about Empire Avenue. @ricster1010 who is COO of Empire was there, as was @3favors which is the Twitter account for favo.rs, another emerging social media site. A couple other participants in the tweet chat were @99_100thmonkeys @morphwithus and @64rdb64.

I'm just starting to get to know them.

With that, I'll end this post and wish everyone a happy holiday.

This week, I've generated my Follow Friday list from people that I've interacted with on flavo.rs. It is the social networking site du jour. So far, it seems to be used mostly to promote everyone's personal brand online. But, that isn't all that uncommon in the early days of a social network.

It does identify early adopters, and I think it is fair to say that everyone on this list is an early adopter, and for that reason alone, they should probably be followed. Some of them are people I've known online for quite a while from many different networks. Others I don't know quite as well, and some might really just be playing the game of gathering fans in different networks.

So, are you on favo.rs? Are their other new networks that you find really interesting?

This week, I attended two different events related to health care social media in Connecticut (#hcsmct). The first was a tweet up breakfast for various people working on health issues in Connecticut using social media. It was a great breakfast and we are planning on meeting monthly, as well as having weekly Tweet Chats. The first Monday of every month, we'll meet for breakfast and the other Mondays we'll have a Tweet Chat in the afternoon. The first chat will be next Monday at 3 PM with the #hcsmct hash tag.

The second event was a forum sponsored by Health Justice CT on Social media for social change. Joining me on the panel was @chiefmaven @brandonframe. They are both interesting people, well worth the follow.

A few of the people at the breakfast were @src_changeagent @elizabethradl @heangtan. These are their individual ids on twitter. I had already met @elizabethradl and @heangtan. Again, highly recommended. It was the first time i met @src_changeagent and I look forward to working with her on various health issues going forward.

These people and about a half dozen others were at the breakfast representing the following groups: @healthjusticect @cthealth @chnctfoundation @chchealthcorps @cshhc @CHCConnecticut . All of them are groups that I feel it is very important to retweet their messages, and I hope more people will follow them and retweet them.

That's it for this week.
