This week’s Follow Friday post is based on whose messages I have been retweeting recently. The first two, @CACHCA_RCACCS and @CHIGAMIK are regular participants of the Thursday afternoon #chcchat. I’ve met a lot of interesting people on these tweet chats and we regularly retweet one another.
Coming up next is @HealthJusticeCT. They sent me a direct message at my work account, asking that I retweet a message they had posted about a survey they are doing. I retweeted it from both my personal account and on behalf of @CHCConnecticut where I work.
One of the great things about @CHCConnecticut is that we have a wonderful group of @AmeriCorps members. AmeriCorps members at health centers are part of @CommHealthCorps and those at CHC tweet as @CHCHealthCorps. This week is @AmeriCorpsWeek and our AmeriCorp members have been crossing the State of Connecticut doing great community service projects.
There are so many great people on Twitter that I’ve been retweeting, I could go on and on, but this is a pretty good list for now. So, who are you following? Who are you retweeting?

Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Fri, 05/13/2011 - 18:08It has been a long week and I’m only now getting to my Follow Friday list for this week. Starting things off is @reachoutandread. “Reach Out and Read is the evidence-based early literacy initiative that partners with pediatricians to prepare America’s youngest children to succeed in school”. They will be doing some interesting programs in Connecticut this summer which I may be writing about.
@bjfogg is a “Stanford innovator & psychologist. Focus on persuasive tech, behavior change. Work 50% in industry. Fun mix.” He came up in a discussion at work yesterday, so I’m starting to look into his work.
@trybarefoot is from Nova Scotia “working with you to facilitate the growth of individuals, teams, orgainzations and communities”. I met him through #chcchat and need to follow up on some ideas from the tweetchat.
@sbanjo is a “Wall Street Journal reporter covering Connecticut and Westchester County”. She recently started following me and I’m following her in return. Oh, and she’s rooting for #teamtate
@macrame_art is “In love with MACRAME for over 20yrs and still keep discovering new patterns”. I assume she followed me because of my writing about trying to make a macrame hammock. Hopefully I’ll get a little more time to work on that this weekend.
@wadedog21 is the CFO for a community health center in South Dakota. I suspect he followed me as part of the #chcchat and I returned the follow. I can’t remember exactly, but I’m interested in following CHC related people
@pitagroup is “brand advisors, innovators and true business partners who build success for our clients by developing and executing creative strategies”. A friend just went to work there and it will be interesting to see what they are up to.
@AndrewCWhite is a long time political friend.
Well, that’s it for this week.

Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Fri, 05/06/2011 - 20:42Okay. A fairly random collection of Follow Friday listings this week… I’ll start off with @CHCHealthCorps. This is a new Twitter account for “a team of 12 AmeriCorps Community HealthCorps members serving at Community Health Center, Inc. in cities throughout Connecticut” They are getting ready for their big trip across Connecticut and it would be great for a bunch of people to follow them.
@andreayap is an old friend from @Ripple100. I ran into him today at a health care conference and we had lunch afterwards.
@KatSongPR – I may have mentioned her recently in a #ff. I did Retweet her quote from Abraham Lincoln about the Internet.
@davelucas – Dave is an old blogging friend who wanted to know about my problems with Amazon Web Services. I still need to write that quote.
@heddahfeddah is an old twitter contact who write a lot about Hartford and recently tweeted about a whale watch on the Dolphin Fleet out of Provincetown.
@HartfordMayor recently sent out a press release about getting his 1000th follower.
@VargasforMayor wants to become the next Hartford Mayor and mentioned me, my wife, @CouncilorCotto and some others in a tweet about a Politico article.
@CouncilorCotto also from Hartford, commented about my tweet about the Woodbridge elections. Apparently, he got the election results from my tweet a day late. Not sure what happened there.
Then there are the Quigley brothers, @richquigley and @RobQuigley. I’ve mentioned them in tweets and #FF posts a bit recently and they have come back with interesting responses.
Finally, I’ll shout out to @lenpeters. He just became the new CIO for @Yale. He doesn’t have a lot of followers yet and doesn’t tweet a lot yet, but hopefully that will change soon enough.
So, that is my Follow Friday post for the first Friday of May.

Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Fri, 04/22/2011 - 17:09This week’s Follow Friday post takes a different twist. I am going through the different twitter lists I’m on and highlighting some of the people that have listed me.
Starting off is @michaelcipi He describes himself as a SEO & Social Nerd @HunchFree and listed me as a Social-Samurai, “Social Media maestros, meeting place magicians, crowd source connoisseurs”. Thanks.
Next is @vladkonce. “Noetic Positivism”. His list is happy-new-world-1. Sounds interesting.
@HopeHealthInc has me on their list, health-center-info. We have a lot in common through the #chcchats.
@MBGreenwich has me on their Connecticut list.
The Quigley brothers, @RobQuigley @RichQuigley have me on several different lists about social media, techweb, top-content, and conversations. I mentioned them in a previous Follow Friday. Very interesting folks.
@CrescendoCG lists me in a Health Care Social Media (HCSM) list. Yup, that’s my job these days and I’m really appreciating connecting with others interested in this.
@KatPowers has me on two lists, New England and Media on Media. Kat describes herself as “Working on SEO, mom, mother, mommy, maman, gardner, garden, plants, spring, editor, newspapers, WickedLocal.com”. I’ve been following her on various social media sites for quite a while, and highly recommend her writing.
@craigpsmith lists me on Social Media Types. I just retweeted something he had retweeted about QR codes on campaign signs. Glad I found it from him.
@kurtgannon “Interactive Art Director at Jackrabbit Design in Hartford/ Boston” lists me on his Connecticut list and his marketing-pr-social-copy list.
@CaitlinRDoran lists me on her social media list. I met her at the Mayo Clinic social media conference in Florida and really enjoy reading what she writes.
I could go on and on, but that’s probably enough for this week. Happy Follow Friday everyone.

Submitted by Aldon Hynes on Fri, 04/15/2011 - 21:34Today, an interesting crowdsourcing project started. There is a list of over 1200 Community Health Centers from around the country. How many of them have webpages? How many of them are on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or other sites? Well, this afternoon people started filling in the list in a Google Spreadsheet. I added a few of the health centers I know about and thought that listing some of them in a Follow Friday post would be a good way to highlight some of them, as well as highlighting the project of gathering a good list of community health centers using social media.
